One of my favorite things to see is a groom’s face when he sees his bride walk down the aisle. Whether a first look is involved or not, there is something so incredible and romantic about that walk. It’s the moment you dream of all your life, filled with so many emotions. As Dorena walked down to meet her groom, I glanced over at Peter and saw him looking down. He tried to look up at her but couldn’t contain the emotions going through him. As gentle tears streamed down his face and hers, they soon locked eyes and never looked away. For the rest of the day, Peter beamed with pride as he looked at his wife. He wiped her tears, held her hand, and stood beside her, just as he vowed he would do for the rest of their lives.
I’ve known Dorena since the day she was born. In fact, I used to hold her all the time, as she was quite possibly the most beautiful baby I’d ever seen. Black hair, blue-green eyes, and fair skin, she was my real life baby doll version of Snow White. Fast forward some twenty years (or so…) when she asked me to photograph her wedding to her real life prince charming. I couldn’t believe that day had come and I couldn’t have felt more
old honored. ;) Dorena & Peter, thank you SO much for having Adi and I photograph such a special day. You two mean a lot to us and we couldn’t be happier that you’ve found each other. We wish so many blessings upon you and may you both have as beautiful a marriage as you did a wedding.
Remember that real life snow white I told you about? She looked even more beautiful than that.
The entire wedding took place at the amazing Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills, California. It was such a dream venue, with the ceremony taking place under an oak tree right before sunset. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know I have a soft spot for oak tree ceremonies.
The gorgeous floral arrangements & decor (hello, ombre flower aisle!!) were all done by my incredibly talented aunt, Michelle. I’ve been fortunate enough to work on quite a few weddings with her and she never ceases to blow me away. You can see more of her work and follow her here.
My other soft spot? Christian Louboutin shoes.
We took a few more portraits right as the sun set and I couldn’t have asked for better light. The soft and warm pink tones combined with these two newlyweds was a match made in heaven.
