Is there anything better than a stunning couple kissed in a warm pink sunset on a cool December evening? When my good friend, Persida, came up with an idea for an anniversary photoshoot with her handsome husband, two things immediately came to mind: “heck yes!!!” and “you still fit in your wedding dress?”. No worries friends, I only voiced the first, since, well… look at her. I know I’ve said this before, but my friends are the prettiest on the planet. I can’t even believe I get to work and play with them. One of the best advantages to having your friends pose for you is that I can ask them to sit on logs, lay on grass in a wedding dress surrounded by lit candles (no fire hazards there), and balance sitting on a fence while showing me her gorgeous shoes (girl’s got skill)… and still want to hang out with me afterwards. I can’t emphasize enough how great it is to be given complete freedom and trust. Another thing I know I say too often (but it’s true!!), is that this photoshoot is a favorite for me. My incredible sister-in-law did Persida’s fabulous hair and the rest was a complete labor of love.
Persida & Josh, I can’t thank you enough for getting back in your wedding attire and giving this your all. It means so much for me to be able to capture an anniversary photoshoot for you both. Most of all though, I can’t thank you enough for your friendship. You guys mean so much to us and we’re beyond blessed by both of you. I hope to photograph 100 more anniversaries for you (great news, Josh!). I love you both. So much.
If you don’t already hate Persida because she’s so stunningly beautiful, then you need to know that she also made her own bouquet by combining beautiful flowers with leaf vegetables (brilliant) and did her own makeup. Oh, and she’s a nurse. Gorgeous, creative, talented, and has a heart of gold. Ugh. ;)
Fun fact: When Persida was engaged, I took her to a few bridal salons to look for a dress since she lived in North Carolina. I was with her when she tried this very dress on and we both knew it was the one immediately. Years later, it’s still incredibly stylish and beautiful and timeless… and everything you could ever want in a wedding dress.
And can we give the handsome Josh some love? He looked so dapper and stylish…. and he has really great hair.
I couldn’t ever choose a favorite, but I love the formal, classic with a nod to vintage feel of this photo below:
Brides, I’ll have you know my sister-in-law works magic on hair. She creates the most beautiful styles ever.
What a classic beauty Persida is. As it was getting dark, we lit some candles and below are some of my favorites:
