Happy December!! I cannot believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already. But what I really can’t believe is that I’m still working on leftovers… leftover pie that is. Pumpkin, walnut, berry, apple, you name it, I’ll eat it. If you don’t know this already, I love, love, love this time of year. Sure, the Christmas music, the weather, the lights, the cozy sweaters, and the family get togethers help… but let’s be real: I live for the food. Let’s just thank the good gracious Lord that the holidays are but once a year. This Thanksgiving was one of my favorites yet and I have a feeling I’ll keep saying that as the years go by. Having a toddler around makes everything merrier and brighter. I love seeing the joy in his eyes for the simplest of things and honestly, holidays are so much fun with a child. I dream of one day having a house filled with little feet dancing around to carols and sitting around a big table filled wtih… what else, but food!
I’m sad to report that this year I forgot my fancy camera at home on Thanksgiving. BUT! iPhone to the rescue! We started the day with a walk as a family of three and stopped to swing on swings and slide on slides. After letting E get all his energy out, we put him in the stroller and took the longest trail possible. Adi and I talked about what we were thankful for, both big and small. There are so many things to be thankful for but at the top of our list was definitely Emerson. His little spirit, his big heart, the joy he lives life with, and his health. Nothing is more important than that and we hope to never take it for granted. After our walk, we let E nap and then headed to my aunts for the big feast. We all ate and went around and said what we were thankful for again. You just can’t do that enough on Thanksgiving, right? We then went outside and let E kick a ball around while we all laughed and let him have all the attention he so loves. We finished off the day with too much dessert and tried to watch a Christmas movie. Emphasis on tried. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, friends, and thankful lists!
**Here are a few iPhone photos from our Thanksgiving together! All photos were edited with the VSCO app.**
This is E’s new favorite way to swing. He could literally sit like this and swing with us for hours and I think it’s the cutest thing ever.
These two may be blurry but I love them so. If he gives one of us a kiss, he knows he has to give the other one too. There are no favorites in this family (at least this is what I tell myself).
Newlyweds and uncles make the world go round.
And last but certainly not least, a little fall decor that makes me smile
